Tips, Suggestions and More Information
Invitations are fully assembled.
While trying to make ordering simple, there are many details to consider. Your invitations set the tone for your special event and are an announcement to your family and friends. Each invitation, response card and reception/enclosure card is priced individually, therefore you can order specific amounts. This is a handy option if you have guests that you would like to invite to your ceremony, but not the reception or if you would like to just send announcements to close relatives and friends.
Don't worry, your order will be reviewed in detail and an final draft will be sent to you before the final processing. And remember, you order what you need. There is no minimum order required.
What will your order include?
Most invitations can accommodate at least 12 lines of text for your wording and up to 6 lines for response, reception and enclosure cards. Invitations are printed flat with black ink (unless otherwise specified). Some handmade invitations include inner and outer envelopes. See individual product for details. Response cards include imprinted return address envelopes. Order imprinting for outer envelopes for an additional charge (.15 ea)
Invitation Sizes

Mailing your Invitations
When possible, mail all invitations at the same time. The general rule is 6-8 weeks before the date of the event. Keep in mind that time needs to be allowed for responses to me mailed back (usually 2 weeks). Always include a return address on the outer envelope and include a stamp on the response envelope. This will also ensure undelivered invitations will be returned to you.
Invitation mailings when fully assembled, often require extra postage. Be sure to take a completely assembled invitation to your post office to determine proper postage. additional info.
Envelopes
The inner envelope should be addressed with the names of the recipients (ex: Mr. and Mrs. Smith) and if adding children, their first names in order of age.
When addressing the outer envelope use the full names and formal titles. Only abbreviate titles such as Mr., Mrs., Jr. Spell out the word "and", and the words Street, Boulevard, and Avenue. Do not abbreviate state names. Do not write "and family" if children are not invited or there is a limit to the number of invited guests. Don't put yourself in the awkward situation of having to "un-invite" someone.
Enclosures and Announcements
Enclosures may include directions to the church, reception and gift registry information. Don't forget to include these when you send out your invitations. If you can't invite everyone to your wedding or event, announcements are a nice way of sharing your news with those special people. Order Extra Remember to order a few extra for guests that were not included in the initial count. Plus you want to order at least one extra as a keepsake to place in your wedding album or frame. Processing Times Order as early as possible. Depending on the size of your order, processing times will vary. Because our invitations are all handmade please allow an average processing time of 3-5 business days.

Print your own clear labels for return address for invitations and guest's addresses.
Instead of ordering reception cards, add the reception information to the invitation or add corner copy. (Only suggested if the reception is at the same location as the wedding)
Be sure to only order invitations after you have compiled your guest list and finalized it. The number of invitations required may only be half of your entire guest list. (spouses, families in same household etc...will account for the difference)
You may consider having an adult reception (be sure to add this note to your reception card).
The total amount of your order will not be charged for 48 hours after the proof is accepted (unless waived). Because all invitations, enclosures and announcements are made to order changes or refunds after the 48 hour grace period can not be accepted.
Although you enter your credit card information at check out, your card will not be charged until the proof is accepted. Proof may include a sample invitation sent via email or mail |
